Set of projects focusing on letters, typeface and typography

The focus of the projects was to get a heightened awareness, knowledge and skill to work with letters by understanding the history, terminology and practice through various projects.

The flash animation allowed us to see how typeface works when it is controlled by factors in motion – pace, transition, direction, and angle. We had to pick a typography quote, create a story board – paper as well as in Illustrator and create a corresponding flash animation. The challenge involved conveying the feel of the quote without affecting the readability, balancing the original storyboard idea with limited time and expertise in Flash, making editorial decisions and learning completely new tools.
